Wadah Malaeb

About

Wadah Malaeb is a Lebanese engineer, inventor and entrepreneur, founder and CEO of DLOC Biosystems, which he established in 2017 to develop organ-on-a-chip technology for more accurate drug testing and to reduce reliance on animal testing. He developed the chip's first concept during his master's thesis at the American University of Beirut. He was crowned winner of Season 12 of the TV program 'Stars of Science' for his Ductal Organoid-on-a-Chip project.

Achievements

• Founded DLOC Biosystems in 2017 to develop organ-on-a-chip technology
• Won Season 12 of 'Stars of Science', taking the first prize of USD 300,000
• Listed on Forbes Middle East's 30 Under 30 in 2022
• His company selected Discovery Park in Kent, UK, for a new biology facility (2023)
